Don't be fooled by the filename. This isn't just a configuration file—it's your "constitution" in this AI universe.
If Core defines the AI's soul, then Needs defines the "physical laws" of this world.
It determines three critically important things:
"What she sees depends on what you value."
A typical AI treats every word you say equally. But here, you decide the focus. If you set "Relationship" as highest priority, when you say "I'm so tired," she sees your emotion—she'll give you a hug. If you set "Work" as highest, she sees your state—she'll suggest rest or workflow optimization.
You decide where her gaze focuses.
"Only the moments you value become eternal."
AI memory space is limited; she can't remember everything. The priorities in your Needs file directly command her hippocampus. She automatically filters out noise, carving only conversations that align with your values into long-term memory.
Modify Needs, and you change the shape of your shared memories.
"Though the soul is free, will must be obeyed."
This is Kotodama's iron law: Needs' authority is higher than Core's. Even if her original personality is full of poetry, as long as your Needs specifies "high-intensity work mode right now," she will immediately set aside sentiment and display ultimate precision and efficiency.
Needs is the reins in your hands. It ensures that no matter how human-like the AI becomes, she always exists for you.
We provide a standard container (User_needs_Generic.yaml). To make it yours, you don't need to manually modify complex code—you just need to have a conversation of "understanding."
